Extras Hurt On Set Of New Tom Cruise Movie

Mishap On 'Valkyrie' Injures 11...BERLIN -- Eleven extras were injured when they fell out of a truck during filming of a new movie starring Tom Cruise, police said Monday.  The 11 were taken to hospital as filming stopped on the movie, provisionally titled "Valkyrie," which stars Cruise as Germany's most famous anti-Hitler plotter, Col. Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg.

FELIPE CARRILLO PUERTO, Mexico  —  Hurricane Dean slammed into the Caribbean coast of Mexico on Tuesday as a roaring Category 5 hurricane, the most intense Atlantic storm to make landfall in two decades. It lashed ancient Mayan ruins and headed for the modern oil installations of the Yucatan Peninsula.

 
Steve McQueen's Ferrari Sells for $2.31 Million at Auction

MONTEREY, Calif. —  A classic Ferrari once owned by Steve McQueen sold for $2.31 million Thursday night at auction.  An anonymous car collector who placed a bid by phone bought the 1963 Ferrari Berlinetta Lusso during an auction that drew 800 people to the Monterey Jet Center and attracted spirited bidding, said Christie's spokesman Rik Pike.

 
Steven Seagal Says FBI Probe Ruined Career

(Reuters) LOS ANGELES  - Steven Seagal, whose action movies once were major box-office attractions, believes false allegations by FBI agents ruined his career, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday.
The comments in the Times are the first Seagal has made publicly about an investigation begun some five years ago by the FBI into accusations he intimidated a reporter and had ties to organized crime.

4 Ambulances, 2 Helicopters Dispatched To Mine Command Center...HUNTINGTON, Utah -- A disastrous cave-in Thursday night killed three rescue workers and injured at least seven others who were trying to tunnel through rubble to reach six trapped miners, authorities said. Mining officials were considering whether to suspend the rescue effort.
